For most travelers, Mexico is an easily accessible paradise that ranks highly on numerous scuba divers lists of destinations. With the Pacific on one coast and the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean on the other, as well as some of the worlds largest freshwater cave systems, Mexico has thousands of dive sites to explore and something for everyone. With Mexico being such a large country the areas we visit most often are the Yucatan Peninsula, the Sea of Cortez and Socorro. The Yucatan Peninsula offers a wide range of diving from the freshwater caverns of the Cenotes, to the leisurely drift diving of Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen where you will float effortlessly past turtles, rays and colorful sponges. The Sea of Cortez is home to Cabo San Lucas and La Paz, where you can dive in clear calm waters and encounter playful sea lions, large schools of fish, migrating Mobula Rays, sharks and even nudibranchs. Lastly, but certainly not least Socorro diving is an underwater adventure filled with encounters with large marine animals like giant manta rays, dolphins, and over 7 species of sharks including whale sharks. Whatever you are looking for in a dive, Mexico will not disappoint.
