Truk

The Truk Islands, now known as the Chuuk Islands are a part of the Federated States of Micronesia, although avid divers still know it as Truk Lagoon. The island is known for its vast history that is below and above the water from World War ll. During the war the island was home to the Imperial Japanese Navy’s Fourth Fleet Base, as the war escalated the U.S. and its allies bombed the island sinking more than 50 ships and destroying an estimated 200-400 aircrafts. You can now dive and see these historic World War ll ships and planes preserved and teeming with marine life, making these dives the best wreck dives in the world! Although the main attraction here are the wrecks, Truk still has amazing corals and marine life that you can see from resot boat diving or on a liveaboard.

Odyssey Adventures

The Odyssey originally sailed the waters of Fiji prior to being purchased in 1999 and moving to Chuuk. The Odyssey was completely refit and started cruising the waters of Chuuk shortly afterwards with divers from all over the world. This ship has an unrivaled reputation in the dive industry for friendly service, high safety standards and the most experienced crew in Chuuk. A unique part about diving aboard Odyssey is that they don't require everyone to dive at the same time. So it is not unusual for you and your buddy to be the only divers on a 500' wreck. For photographers, this offers more opportunities to shoot those popular scenes without having to wait for others to move out of the way and avoid those unexpected photobombs from other divers.

Truk Master will moor over the deeper wrecks allowing an easy descent down the line directly on to the wreck. Technical divers will benefit from the support of the “mother ship”, whilstthe 2 skiffs are able to shuttle less experienced divers to the shallower sites and offer reef diving as an alternative to the wrecks.
